Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert

Microsoft retired the PL-600: Microsoft Power Platform Solution Architect Expert certification on June 30, 2026.

Unlike some other retired certifications, PL-600 does not have a direct content successor. Microsoft's own guidance is explicit: AB-100 — Agentic Business Solutions Architect Expert is not a direct replacement, but is recommended as the next step for anyone holding PL-600, MB-700, MB-335, MB-240, or PL-500 who wants to stay current with a recognised expert-level Microsoft certification.

The two certifications validate genuinely different skills. 
PL-600 focused on classic Power Platform solution architecture: Dataverse security modelling, environment strategy, integration design across Teams, SharePoint and third-party systems, and end-to-end implementation oversight.

AB-100 focuses on agent architecture: designing, deploying, and governing AI agent solutions across Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, and multi-agent orchestration. If your role centres on traditional Power Platform architecture, AB-100 will not validate that same expertise, it opens a different, AI-first architecture track instead.
