The Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate certification proves you can implement and configure Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central — setting up core functionality and modules and migrating data for small and medium-sized businesses.

As a certified functional consultant, you configure financial management, sales, purchasing, inventory, and fixed assets. You create companies, manage security and permissions, set up dimensions and posting groups, and configure role centers with insights, cues, and reports.

You also set up Copilot and agent capabilities, and you understand how Business Central connects with Microsoft 365, the Power Platform, and other Dynamics 365 applications — working closely with the implementation team to deliver a system the business can actually manage and use.

What the exam covers

The MB-800 exam measures four skill areas: configuring financials — general ledger, chart of accounts, posting groups, payables, receivables, and fixed assets (30–35%), performing Business Central operations such as processing sales, purchases, payments, and inventory transactions (30–35%), setting up Business Central including company creation, security, dimensions, and workflows (20–25%), and configuring sales and purchasing master data, pricing, and discounts (10–15%). As of June 2026, the exam also covers enabling Copilot and agent capabilities.
